Protecting yourself from smoke
When smoke is heavy, an N95 mask is what you should use — cloth or surgical masks are not appropriate for wildfire smoke.

- A low-cost DIY air filter can be made from a 20"×20" box fan and a similar-sized furnace filter. See how (video).
- If you run your furnace on recirculate during a smoke event, remember to change the filter afterwards.
